Six-part mini-series The Night Manager, a spy thriller based on John le Carré’s best-selling novel of the same name, will premiere April 19th on AMC at 10PM ET/PT.
Starring Tom Hiddleston (I Saw the Light), Hugh Laurie (TV’s House M.D.), Olivia Colman (London Road), Elizabeth Debicki (The Man from U.N.C.L.E.), Tom Hollander (Mission Impossible – Rogue Nation), and Jonathan Aris (TV’s Sherlock), the spy drama is directed by Susanne Bier (Serena) with series writing credits going to David Farr (Hanna) and le Carré. Executive producers include Simon Cornwell, Stephen Cornwell, Stephen Garrett and Le Carré.
The story centers on Jonathan Pine (Hiddleston), a former British soldier and current hotel night manager who is recruited by an intelligence operative (Colman) to bring down ruthless and sinister businessman Richard Onslow Roper (Laurie). Roper, “the worst man on earth” hated by Pine for personal reasons, is planning to create an alliance between the intelligence community and the secret arms trade. It is up to Pine to dismantle Roper’s operations but to do so, he must get past the interrogations of Roper’s chief of staff Major Corkoran (Hollander) and the temptation of Roper’s girlfriend (Debicki).
AMC describes the series as bringing together “love, loss and revenge in a complex story of modern criminality.” Check out the trailer below:
