“Is this a game? A test?” We shall see but first the teaser for Allied arrives. This WWII-set tale pits two of the most photogenic movie stars on the planet – Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard – against one another. Robert Zemeckis, the Oscar-winning filmmaker behind Forrest Gump and the director of last year’s The Walk, is at the helm of what may be one of the more glamorous movies set to arrive in theaters this year. Zemeckis directs from Steven Knight’s original screenplay.
In Allied, Pitt portrays an intelligence officer who meets by chance a French Resistance fighter (Cotillard) on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. The pair reunite in London sometime later where passions are ignited but the fevers of war threaten to sour their relationship. Matthew Goode (The Imitation Game), Lizzy Caplan (The Interview) and Jared Harris (Lincoln) co-star.
