The trailer for the animated Disney/Pixar film Onward, starring Chris Pratt and Tom Holland, was just released.
According to Pixar, the film is set in a suburban fantasy world and introduces two teenage elf brothers, Ian and Barley Lightfoot, who embark on an extraordinary quest to discover if there is still enough magic out there after their mother gives them a magical gift from their now-deceased father that allows them to bring him back.
The trailer features the Lightfoot boys on their journey to find the top half of their father after the gift he gave them gives them a little bad luck and leaves the boys with only the legs of their father. In their journey they encounter centaurs, fairies, and unicorns… oh my! Check out the magical trailer below.
Julia Louis-Dreyfus voices the boys’ mother while Octavia Spencer voices a character named Manticore. The film is directed and produced by Dan Scanlon and Kori Rae, respectively, a pair who previously worked together on the 2013 Pixar film Monsters University. The story was inspired by Scanlon’s childhood because, similar to the Lightfoots, his father died when he was a young boy and he grew up wondering what he was like.
The feature is set to be released in the United States on March 5, 2020.
