After a troubled production history with release dates pushed from Labor Day weekend to early 2015, the western Jane Got a Gun finally has a trailer.
An international trailer is now available online for the revenge western that sees a woman (Natalie Portman, Knight of Cups) seeking help from a former lover (Joel Edgerton, Black Mass) to protect her outlaw husband (Noah Emmerich, TV’s The Americans) from a gang out to kill him. Meanwhile, the local sheriff (Ewan McGregor, Beauty and the Beast) offers Edgerton’s character a reward for bringing in Jane’s husband.
The trailer bills the film as a revenge tale where Portman’s character transitions from being a housewife to a killer who will stop at nothing to protect her family. The trailer also centers the film around a climactic gunfight, very similar to Slow West from earlier this year.
For the time being, Jane Got a Gun is still set to release in February 2016, though given the project’s history with release dates, that could change until we get a domestic trailer. In the meantime, check out the international trailer below.
