The first full trailer for Disney/Pixar’s holiday release The Good Dinosaur surfaced today and it most definitely lives up to the promise of the teaser, which dropped earlier this year.
The long-gestating film centers on a world where the asteroid that hit Earth and killed the dinosaurs was just a bit off-target, and the now-spared dinosaurs must learn to co-exist with humans. The main character is Arlo the Apatosaurus (voiced by Raymond Ochoa), who gets separated from his family and must find his way back to his home in the Claw-Tooth Mountains. He’s joined on his quest by an unexpected friend, a human boy named Spot (voice of Jack Bright).
The all-star voice cast also includes Jeffrey Wright (Casino Royale), Steve Zahn (Dallas Buyer’s Club), A.J. Buckley (The Box), Anna Paquin (X-Men: Days of Future Past), Sam Elliott (Hulk), Frances McDormand (Fargo), and Marcus Scribner (TV’s Black-ish). Peter Sohn makes his feature directorial debut, after years in the animation and art departments of Pixar, working on such classics as Ratatouille (2007) and Finding Nemo (2003).
This will be Pixar’s second release of 2015, following the hit Inside Out. The Good Dinosaur is set for a Thanksgiving Day release.
