The official trailer for Insurgent is finally here. Shailene Woodley (The Descendants) returns to the Divergent series as Tris Prior, teaming up with Tobias (Theo James), her brother Caleb (Ansel Elgort), and possibly the factionless, led by new cast member Naomi Watts, to once again take on Jeanine (Kate Winslet) and her followers, who continue their mission to rid the city of the Divergent.
The trailer sees Tris as she and Tobias begin to take leadership of the rebellion against the Erudite. Alliances begin to form, bringing in Octavia Spencer (The Help) as the leader of Amity, and Daniel Dae Kim (TV’s LOST) as the leader of Candor. Screen adapters Brian Duffield and Akiva Goldsman (I Am Legend) have also created “the box” that we see in the opening of the footage.
The warring factions will also feature returning cast members Miles Teller (Whiplash), Zoe Kravitz (After Earth), Jai Courtney (Jack Reacher), Maggie Q (TV’s Nikita) and Mekhi Phifer (8 Mile) as well as newcomers Suki Waterhouse (Pusher), Jonny Weston (Chasing Mavericks), and Keiynan Lonsdale (Dance Academy).
Directed by Robert Schwentke (RED), Insurgent will hit theaters March 20, 2015.
