What would have been comedic and cinematic icon Robin Williams’ 69th birthday was on Tuesday, July 21, and fans and celebrities alike celebrated with a number of touching posts remembering the actor, who shockingly and tragically committed suicide on August 11, 2014.
Actors such as Joseph Gordon-Levitt, John Stamos, and George Takei commemorated Williams on Twitter, as well as many other prominent members of the entertainment industry. Williams’ daughter, Zelda, 30, announced that she would be donating $69.69 to “as many homeless shelters as I can” to honor her late father. In perhaps the best way to honor him, she also wrote that she wishes “you all at least one hearty, immature belly laugh on Dad today.”
