Celebrate Election Day with ‘Air Force One’ – In Select Theaters For One Night Only

Since Election Day is tomorrow, Regal Theaters in select cities across the nation will be playing Air Force One starring Harrison Ford and directed by Wolfgang Petersen (Das Boot, Poseidon). Air Force One was released in the later part of summer 1997 and went on to gross over $300 million at the worldwide box office. Receiving positive reviews from most critics and movie-goers alike, it would become one of the most popular action films of the decade.

The story was simple: President James Marshall (Harrison Ford) makes a speech that there will be no negotiating with terrorists. Along comes Ivan Korshunov (Gary Oldman) posing as a cameraman who later takes over famed presidential aircraft Air Force One. Glenn Close provides a solid performance as the Vice President, frustrated with the growing situation back in the states. Along the way we are given some great action sequences, brutal fight scenes and a solid action thriller.

It’s a wonder to why this film is to be shown on Election Day when there are other films about the President. We have The American President, a sweet comedy film about love, politics, and the media’s input of the President. We also have In the Line of Fire, a tense thriller about an assassin who plays a game with a secret service agent when he threatens to assassinate the President. There are many more films regarding the President, but Air Force One may be a perfect choice because the President himself actually gets to kicks some ass and what can be more fun than that?

Air Force One lands into theaters for a one-night only showing. Check your local listings to see if this awesome action film will be playing near you. When you have Harrison Ford as the front runner you will always be offered a good time. Remember, “Get off my plane.”

Rick Rice: A kid at heart who has loved watching movies from a very young age. Credit must be given to Siskel and Ebert whose film reviews educated me on the world of film inspired me to become a writer myself. I love to read books that range from various topics, copious amounts of research is something that excites me and of course sitting in a movie theater is a highlight of my life. When I'm not watching movies or reading I enjoy listening to foreign music and working hard on finishing my short stories. Currently working on my degree in English with a plan to enroll into Film School with the dream of becoming a screenwriter and director.
