Celebrate Batman’s 80th Birthday with a Four-Day Cinema Event!

He’s a man who strikes from the shadows, instills fear into the hearts of criminals and the one man who can save Gotham City from the threat of crime. His name is Batman (or Bruce Wayne).

Batman has officially turned eighty years old. His first appearance was the Detective Comics #27 which was published on March 30th 1939, the cover art which revealed the caped-crusader was revealed in May of 1939. To celebrate this historical moment for one of the most popular characters of the DC Universe, Fathom Events has scheduled a four-day cinema event which will show four Batman films on the Big Screen! Those four films will be…

  1. Batman (1989) on May 4th
  2. Batman Returns (1992) on May 6th
  3. Batman Forever (1995) on May 12
  4. Batman and Robin (1997) on May 14

Tim Burton‘s Batman is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year (released on June 23rd 1989) and features Michael Keaton as Bruce Wayne. Jack Nicholson plays the infamous Joker, Michael Gough is Alfred Pennyworth and of course we can’t forget Billie Dee Williams as Two-Face. Whether you enjoyed the later movies as much as first or you’re just a Batman fan, these four movies all have a place in comic book film history.

Tickets are already on sale so be sure to purchase them quickly to relive the glory days of the late ’80s and ’90s entertainment. Whether you prefer these films, the Christopher Nolan trilogy or the classic Adam West TV show from the ’60s, Batman is a hero we can all root for.

So, enter the night, tighten up your bat suit and hop in that Batmobile because Batman is arriving at a theater near you!

Rick Rice: A kid at heart who has loved watching movies from a very young age. Credit must be given to Siskel and Ebert whose film reviews educated me on the world of film inspired me to become a writer myself. I love to read books that range from various topics, copious amounts of research is something that excites me and of course sitting in a movie theater is a highlight of my life. When I'm not watching movies or reading I enjoy listening to foreign music and working hard on finishing my short stories. Currently working on my degree in English with a plan to enroll into Film School with the dream of becoming a screenwriter and director.
