

Cate Blanchett, an Australian actress has over 100 acting credits on her IMDb and almost 20 producing credits. Although she has a plethora of acting roles and even has upcoming releases, she has spoken out about her possible retirement from acting.
Blanchett is known for her roles in the likes of Carol, Blue Jasmine, The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, and many others. She has won two Academy Awards and has been nominated and won many other awards. She stars in an upcoming film alongside Adam Driver, written and directed by Jim Jarmusch titled Father, Mother, Sister, Brother. The movie is set to be released in 2025 but there is not a specific date yet. She is also starring in the new film Alpha Gang which is still in production.
The Hollywood Reporter has gathered Blanchett’s interview with the Radio Times where she discussed her thoughts on retiring. She said that she was “…giving up (on acting)…My family roll their eyes every time I say it, but I mean it. I am serious about giving up acting. [There are] a lot of things I want to do with my life.” She went on to say how she did not like being a celebrity in the way that interviews are just snippets of a person and photographs are stills, she thinks “…she make[s] more sense in motion.”
