

The cast and filmmakers of The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants attended its world premiere at the AFI Festival in Los Angeles. The story follows SpongeBob and his Bikini Bottom friends on their biggest adventure yet, as SpongeBob sets out to prove his bravery by going after a mysterious, swashbuckling ghost pirate into the deep sea.
Co-produced by Paramount Animation and Nickelodeon Movies, the adventure-comedy features the voices of Tom Kenny, Clancy Brown, Rodger Bumpass, Bill Fagerbakke, Carolyn Lawrence, Mr. Lawrence, George Lopez, Isis “Ice Spice” Gaston, Arturo Castro, Sherry Cola with Regina Hall and Mark Hamill.
The SpongeBob Movie is based on the beloved animated television series created by marine science educator and animator Stephen Hillenburg for Nickelodeon. The film was written by Pam Brady (South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut, Team America: World Police) and Matt Lieberman (Scoob!, The Addams Family), from a story by Brady, Marc Ceccarelli, and Kaz. It was directed by Derek Drymon.

The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants will be released exclusively in theaters on December 19, 2025.
