The fifth installment of the Pirates franchise is in full swing with the first image revealed of Johnny Depp (Edward Scissorhands) as the iconic Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. Producer Jerry Bruckheimer tweeted the photo out from their Australian shoot, which is now back in production after Depp recovered from a hand injury.

Old favorites of the franchise are returning with Captain Barbossa played by Geoffrey Rush (The King’s Speech), Gibbs played by Kevin McNally (AMC’s Turn), and the rumored return of Will Turner played by Orlando Bloom (The Lord Of The Rings). The new faces joining the cast include the new villain, a ghost pirate played by Javier Bardem (No Country For Old Men). With Bardem’s experience as a Bond villain and as a psychopathic killer in No Country For Old Men, the actor should slide easily into the role of a ghost pirate, adding another villain to his repertoire. The other two new cast members include Kaya Scodelario (The Maze Runner) and Brenton Thwaites (The Giver). Each has been a part of the young adult movie scene and now both are moving into the Disney franchise.
Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is set to hit theaters in 2017.
