With the release of the Captain America: Civil War approaching, details about the first Marvel Studios movie to include Spider-Man have begun to leak. From who Spider-Man will battle, to what color suit he will be wearing has all been reported in the past couple of weeks. Now, the news is about which other Spider-Man character will be joining Peter Parker in Civil War. It appears as if none other than Aunt May, Peter’s surrogate mother, will be appearing in Civil War.
According to reports from Heroic Hollywood, Oscar winner Marisa Tomei (My Cousin Vinny) has secretly filmed scenes in Civil War before production wrapped as Peter Parker’s trusted Aunt May. Rumblings regarding a potential Aunt May appearance began back in July, yet perhaps need to be taken with a grain of salt. As previously announced, Tom Holland (The Impossible) will make his Spidey debut in Civil War before crossing over onto his own series set up at Sony.
Tomei’s appearance adds yet another character to an already massive list. In addition to her and Holland’s Spider-Man, Civil War stars Chris Evans (Captain America), Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Anthony Mackie (Falcon), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Sebastian Stan (The Winter Soldier), Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch), Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Paul Bettany (Vision), Frank Grillo (Crossbones), Hayley Atwell (Peggy Carter), Emily VanCamp (Sharon Carter), Daniel Bruhl (Baron Zemo), Martin Freeman (reportedly a politician) and more.
