With Captain Marvel on the horizon as Marvel’s next big film, fans are curious to see if the cinematic universe has more in store for the character. Luckily, thanks to a 7-Picture Contract deal signed by Brie Larson, the character will definitely make more appearances moving into the next phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The Oscar winning actress is set to appear in 5 more films according to her contract, with a total of 7 including both her solo outing and Avengers: Endgame. When offered the role, she was supposedly paid $5 million dollars for the first film alone. That is more than what Robert Downey Jr. was paid when first taking on the role of Iron Man and more than Chadwick Boseman received when taking on Black Panther in his solo film. Regardless of how much she was paid, Larson seems to be excited to step into character for the foreseeable future, with fans supporting her as the iconic female Marvel character.
Captain Marvel is rumored to be the lead of the next phase of Marvel’s upcoming releases. New heroes are planned to be introduced that will bring more diversity to the Avengers ensemble, now that Black Panther and DC’s Wonder Woman have proven that diversity will help bring in audiences rather than deter them.
See Brie Larson in character for the first time when Captain Marvel hits theaters March 8 and again in Avengers: Endgame on April 26.
