According to the Hollywood Reporter, Brett Ratner’s RatPac Entertainment plans to adapt the novel Missing You by Harlan Coben for Warner Bros. Stephany Folsom will write the script, James Packer, John Cheng, and Chantal Nong will produce along with Ratner. No cast or timetable for release has been announced.
The novel, which hit shelves last March, follows police detective Kat Donovan as she reconnects with her ex and discovers a horrifying conspiracy. Coben is an award-winning author of many crime thrillers, most notably a series featuring his character Myron Bolitar. One of his previous novel, Tell No One, was adapted into a French film in 2006.
Folsom first gained attention with a script for 1969: A Space Odyssey or How Kubrick Learned to Stop Worrying and Land on the Moon, about hiring acclaimed director Stanley Kubrick to help fake the moon landing. That script made the 2013 Black List. Brett Ratner has produced and directed a great number of blockbuster films including the Rush Hour trilogy and X-Men: The Last Stand. He recently directed Hercules and produced Horrible Bosses 2, which will both reach theaters later this year.
