The very popular doll brand saw a live action movie hit theaters all the way back in 2007. Lionsgate put out Bratz which starred Nathalia Ramos, Skyler Shaye, Logan Browning, Janel Parrish and Jon Voight. According to The Hollywood Reporter “the film underperformed at the box office.” Now, Bratz has a chance to redeem itself in theaters.
Amazon MGM will be behind the new film along with Picturestart and Kim Kardashian who are going to produce. Kardashian has quite some experience in the movie and television industry. Most recently she was in season 12 of American Horror Story and is teaming up with Ryan Murphy again for a series called All’s Fair. She is also a part of an upcoming Netflix comedy The 5th Wheel. She is no stranger to starring and producing projects which is what she will do for the Bratz movie. According to Vulture she will play the villain of the film.
As for the writers, Charlie Polinger and Lucy McKendrick are writing the screenplay. Other producers include Erik Feig, Julia Hammer, Jason Larian and Jasmin Larian. With Isaac Larian executive producing.
As for other roles nothing is confirmed yet. And there are no hints at a release date either. As Bratz continues in production more information will come to light.
