Brad Pitt In Talks To Star With Tom Cruise In ‘Go Like Hell’

Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt in ‘Interview With the Vampire’

It’s been almost 10 years since Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise thrilled audiences in the adaptation of Anne Rice’s horror-romance novel Interview With The Vampire, which grossed over $223 million worldwide. The Hollywood Reporter now claims that Brad Pitt is in talks to join already attached Tom Cruise in 20th Century Fox’s adaptation of A.J. Baime’s best-selling true story Go Like Hell: Ford, Ferrari And Their Battle For Speed And Glory At Le Mans.

Brad Pitt was on board for the film in 2009 when Michael Mann was helming, but when Mann dropped out the project stalled. Joseph Kosinksi, who directed the Tom Cruise vehicle Oblivion, is set to direct with brothers Jez and John-Henry Buttersworth drafting a new script.

Cruise is set to play Carroll Shelby, a forming racing champion turned engineer who goes to work for the Ford Motor Company when Henry Ford II and Lee Iacocca were revamping the Ford Image. What better way to attract a youth-market than to design a car that could beat a Ferrari at the most prestigious and dangerous car race in the world – Le Mans. Pitt would play the part of sports race car designer Enzo Ferrari.

Currently Pitt is enjoying the Oscar, SAG and Golden Globe Award buzz for his production of 12 Years A Slave starring Chiwetol Ejiofar and Michael Fassbender. Pitt has a small part in the film. Cruise is currently preparing for Mission Impossible 5.
