Oscar-winning actor Brad Pitt is working on a film about Formula One racing called Apex. But, amidst the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike, Pitt has elected to put a hold on shoots for the film.
Pitt stars in and produces the upcoming Apex alongside world champion Lewis Hamilton. The crew went to the British race at Silverstone in England, where Pitt sat in on the briefing before the race and took to the track himself. Reportedly, he reached 150mph.
As Deadline states, based on an interview with The Sun, Pitt said that the currently booked shoots will still be carried out, but any production planned over the next few months has been put on hold. Shoots are taking place in central Europe, but Pitt has called for dates to be pushed back to keep in solidarity with those on the picket lines,
As another source told Deadline, the crew was expected to film at The Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium, with the real Grand Prix event happening on Sunday. But now, this won’t be happening due to Pitt’s pushbacks.
The next planned shoot dates are to be in November, and everyone hopes that an agreement can be reached for the writers and actors by that point.
