‘Blue Jay’ Trailer – Sarah Paulson and Mark Duplass Rekindle a High School Romance

Blue Jay premiered at this month’s Toronto Film Festival and stars the recent Emmy winner Sarah Paulson (The People v. O.J. Simpson) and indie trailblazer Mark Duplass (Safety Not Guaranteed). Also written by Duplass and directed for the screen by newcomer Alex Lehmann, the story follows Paulson and Duplass as former high-school sweethearts who have run into each other much later in life. The two enter into some heavy reminiscing and maybe strike up something new in the process.

Duplass is also executive producer with his brother Jay under their banner Duplass Brothers Productions. The Orchard picked the film up for distribution and will be releasing the title in theaters on October 7 before sending it on to Netflix later this year.

Check out the trailer below, which features romance mixed with both some melancholic drama and light-hearted nostalgia. At first sight, the look and feel of the film will take you back even further as the film is presented solely in black and white. Watch and enjoy this slice of indie romance brought to us by two brilliant actors right in their elements.
