According to The Hollywood Reporter, Bleecker Street has picked up North American distribution rights to Mark Pellington’s Nostalgia. Bleecker Street CEO Andrew Karpen said in a statement, “Mark has assembled an incredible cast to share this story of family, memories and loss. Nostalgia is one of those beautiful films that can touch everyone as we collectively and individually wrestle with holding onto the things that matter most.”
The drama, penned by Alex Ross Perry from an original story by Perry and Pellington, follows people connected through loss. The ensemble cast includes Jon Hamm (TV’s Mad Men), Academy Award-winning actress Ellen Burstyn (Interstellar), twice-Oscar nominated Catherine Keener (Accidental Love), twice-Oscar nominated Bruce Dern (The Hateful Eight), Nick Offerman (The Founder), Amber Tamblyn (Django Unchained), John Ortiz (A Dog’s Purpose), James Le Gros (Certain Women), Patton Oswalt (TV’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), Annalise Basso (Captain Fantastic), Larry Wilmore (Date and Switch) and Joanna Going (Love & Mercy). Pellington, Tom Gorai and Josh Braun are producing. Perry is executive producing.
Bleecker Street will also handle Pellington’s next film The Last Word, starring Academy Award winning actress Shirley MacLaine (Elsa & Fred) and Amanda Seyfriend (Ted 2), which premieres at Sundance next week, and will open in theaters on March 3rd.
