It looks as though the ensemble for Shawn Christensen’s (Before I Disappear) upcoming indie drama is heating up. Last week it was announced that Logan Lerman (Fury) and Elle Fanning (Maleficent) would be leading the cast that also includes Kyle Chandler (Carol), Michelle Monaghan (Eagle Eye), and Nathan Lane (The Producers). Now, young rising stars Blake Jenner (TV’s Glee) and Margaret Qualley (Palto Alto) have joined the cast along with veteran Tim Blake Nelson (Holes), according to Variety.
The story, written by Christensen and Jason Dolan, follows three phases in the young adult life of the eponymous character as he writes the novel of his generation and then disappears without a trace.
Aside from Lerman as Sidney Hall himself, none of the other roles have been disclosed. Principal photography has already begun in New York City this week, and the film can be expected sometime in 2017 within the festival roll-out.
Jenner can currently be seen starring in Richard Linklater’s Everybody Wants Some!!. Next up, he is set to appear alongside Hailee Steinfeld (Pitch Perfect 2) and Woody Harrelson (The Hunger Games) in The Edge of Seventeen. Qualley currently stars as Justin Theroux‘s (Zoolander 2) daughter in HBO’s The Leftovers. She has a role in the upcoming Russell Crowe–Ryan Gosling action-comedy The Nice Guys and will be appearing as a young nun in Novitiate. Nelson’s next trip to the theaters will be Ang Lee’s Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk starring Garret Hedlund and Kristen Stewart (On the Road).
