According to an exclusive by The Hollywood Reporter, writers of Shanghai Dawn, Aaron Buchsbaum and Teddy Riley, worked together with Detroit Pistons player Blake Griffin and Carolina Panthers’ Ryan Kalil to pitch a sci-fi action comedy, and the pitch was officially picked up by Paramount. What this collaboration will bring forth will be an interesting one to watch happen.

The film has yet to be named, and the majority of plot details are being kept under wraps, but it is the first original feature being put together by the company Mortal Media. They are currently working on a reboot of the 1991 Disney film The Rocketeer.
