The first trailer for Birthmarked has arrived. It is about a couple who adopts three children based on their family’s characteristics. Emanuel Hoss-Desmarais (Whitewash) directed the film based on a script by collaborator Marc Tulin.

Shot in both Montreal as well as Quebec, Birthmarked stars Matthew Goode as Ben and Toni Collette as Catherine, a couple who ventures out on an experiment to adopt three newborns and raise them based on what their family does. One child is raised to be a pacifist despite coming from an angry family, another child is raised to be an artist despite coming from a science-based family and the third is raised to be smart despite coming from a feeble-minded family.

Now the question is will the experiment reveal a scientific truth or will Ben and Catherine discover the meaning of family?
