Lost in Translation director Sofia Coppola has an exciting new project set for Christmas 2015 and has attracted quite an all-star cast, Entertainment Weekly reports. Bill Murray (St. Vincent) will star with Miley Cyrus (LOL), George Clooney (Ocean’s Eleven), Amy Poehler (Baby Mama), and Maya Rudolph (Bridesmaids), as they all play somewhat fictionalized versions of themselves.
The story will follow Murray, a “notoriously agent-less and manager-less actor, as he evades the attempt of a shark dying to sign him.” The comedy will feature the famous maitre d’ of Hollywood’s Tower Bar, Dmitri Dmitrov, in the role of Murray’s valet. In addition to the cameos, each actor will be reportedly joining in a carol or two for the special. Murray and LiT producer Mitch Glazer co-wrote and co-financed the film.
The project has not found a distributor as of yet, but will be sure to attract substantial interest since this will be the first reunion between Coppola, Glazer, and Murray after their collaboration on Lost in Translation; that film won Academy Awards both for Best Picture and Best Original Screenplay.
