The Marvel Cinematic Universe is notorious for the amount of megastars it holds across its plethora of films. There’s always a fantastic chance when seeing a new Marvel film that a familiar face you didn’t expect to see will appear. And as of this weekend, the MCU’s newest recruit is Bill Murray.
This weekend at San Diego Comic Con, the trailer for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania was unveiled, and in the footage Murray can be seen as a character lives within the Quantum Realm.
The legendary Ghostbusters actor has admitted previously that he has no interest in comic book based films as an actor, like the mega block busters Marvel creates. On that note, Murray said his decision to do the project was swayed by Peyton Reed, the director of Quantumania. The actor called Reed funny and humble, saying he was ‘everything you want from a director’. So ultimately it was Reed’s personality and past projects that influenced Murray into saying yes and getting him onto the Marvel set.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will be the first film in Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The movie is schedule to arrive in theaters on February 17 of next year.
