Ben Mendelsohn Says Another Version of ‘Rogue One’ Exists

Recently Emmy winning actor Ben Mendelsohn (Bloodline), who plays Orson Krennic in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, spoke to Collider in an interview confirming that there were a lot of reshoots for the Star Wars spin-off. Several months prior to Rogue One‘s release and domination of the box office, rumors in the industry swirled around about multiple reshoots occurring for Rogue One.

In the interview, Mendelsohn painted a better picture of what actually occurred stating:

We did have multiple, multiple ways of going in any given scenario, we had multiple readings of it- So should they ever decide to, there would be a wealth of ways of approaching these different things. And I know from having seen sort of the crucial kind of scenes throughout it, I know there’s vastly different readings of at least four of those scenes.”

He continued, pointing out that there are “enormous differences within, I would’ve said 20 or 30 of the scenes. There really would be. There would be enormously different renderings.” This does make a bit more sense now after you take a closer look at the original trailer and compare it to the final product out in theaters.

At least now that this is out in the open we can all keep our fingers crossed for all of this additional footage to end up on the special edition Blu-ray.
