Ben Kingsley, an actor of many voices and faces who has most recently played the President of Afghanistan in War Machine, has been cast to be the notorious Nazi war criminal Adolf Eichmann in new thriller named Operation Finale, according to Deadline. Adolf Eichmann was a high-ranking official in the Nazi government who helped orchestrate the Holocaust, the massacre of over 6 million Jews in Nazi Germany concentration camps.
The film will focus on the capture of Adolf Eichmann, who escaped Nazi Germany to his home in Austria and eventually Argentina. He was able to elude the world for over 15 years until he was finally captured in 1960 in Argentina by an Israeli intelligence service called Mossad. Oscar Isaac (Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Ex Machina), the other lead actor in Operation Finale, will be the leader of the team that captured Eichmann, Peter Malkin.
Operation Finale will be spearheaded by Chris Weitz, who is best known for his screenplay of Rogue One. The film will be produced by Isaac, Automatik’s Brian Kavanaugh-Jones and Fred Berger, and Inspire’s Jason Spire. Matt Charman (Bridge of Spies) will be the executive producer. The film does not currently have a release date, but the filming will begin in the fall in Argentina.
