Kyle Chandler has joined the cast of Netflix’s new crime thriller RIP. It was earlier announced to be starring Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Sasha Calle, Nestor Carbonell, Catalina Sandino Moreno, and Teyana Taylor. Joe Carnahan will be directing the film.
The story follows a group of Miami police officers who discover millions of dollars in a derelict stash house. Trust among the group starts to dwindle after others begin learning about the money. They begin to question themselves and those around them and they are put into an unthinkable situation.
Ben Affleck and Matt Damon’s studio Artists Equity will be producing RIP alongside producers Luciana Damon and Dani Bernfield. Michael Joe and Kevin Halloran will executive produce.
Chandler has been busy lately. He was recently casted as DC superhero Hal Jordan in HBO and DC Studio’s highly anticipated show Lanterns. It is set to begin production in the UK early next year.
Chandler rose to stardom after his performance as Coach Eric Taylor in fan-favorite Friday Night Lights. His recent work includes blockbuster Godzilla vs. Kong: The New Empire and Paramount+ series Mayor of Kingstown. He also just finished filming indie film Anniversary directed by Jan Komasca and Netflix’s upcoming action comedy Back to Action.
Netflix has yet to announce a release date for RIP.
Chandler is repped by Gersh and Brillstein Entertainment Partners.
