The fourth film in the action-comedy franchise Bad Boys has confirmed the return of one of the villains from one of the previous films, Bad Boys For Life.
According to ScreenRant, actor Jacob Scipio, who played one of the villains and Will Smith’s character’s unknown son, Armando Aretas, has been confirmed to be a part of this new film’s plot.
This news might not be too surprising for fans, as a mid-credits scene showed both Smith’s character, Mike Lowery, and Armando talking about whether or not this villain’s skills could be used for good. But what it does show is what direction the new film will be going in.
This isn’t the only piece of news pertaining to the plot of the film. Set photos that have been released show that Smith’s character, Mike Lowery, will be getting married to a character played by Melanie Liburd, who is coming off of her success in the video game Alan Wake II.
It is fair to say that writer Chris Bremner and directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, who all worked on the previous Bad Boys films, are putting more growth into Lowery’s character, who was more known as a playboy than a father or husband in the previous films.
Audiences can still expect both Will Smith and Martin Lawrence to bring the laughs and all the action they are used to in the film series.
According to Deadline, this new film was originally set for June 14 but was moved due to Lionsgate pushing back their John Wick spinoff film a year.
Bad Boys 4, which is still waiting on an official title, will be released in theaters on June 7, 2024.
