Baby Alec Baldwin Returns in First Trailer for ‘The Boss Baby: Family Business’

In 2017, Dreamworks animation made a surprise hit with The Boss Baby. Making over $500 million dollars worldwide, Dreamworks definitely saw this opportunity to give franchise potential for Ted the baby in the same vein of Shrek and Trolls. Therefore, a sequel certainly wasn’t out of the realm of possibilities, and now Dreamworks has just released the first trailer for the upcoming animated sequel.

The film centers on Tim  (James Marsden) again, this time all grown up and raising a family of his own including a brand new baby in the mix. Then he ends up getting a visit from his younger brother Ted (Alec Baldwin), also now grown up but is still having childish arguments with Tim. Things go out of hand when Tim’s newborn daughter Tina (Amy Sedaris), starts talking and reveals to be a secret agent of Baby Corp. This time she hires Tim and Ted to investigate Tim’s daughter’s school as the founder (Jeff Goldblum) may have some secret plans of his own. While on this mission, Tim and Ted end up drinking a formula that reverts them back to their younger selves, thus making their adventure more in line with the first movie of crazy childish hi-jinxs as seen throughout this newest trailer.

The first Boss Baby was very bizarre and wacky when it comes to over the top cartoon shenanigan and this sequel seems be in line with the first, if not a little crazier. The film is still set for a theatrical release, but no word if the film is expecting to come to streaming anytime soon. Dreamworks has been on an odd track record when it comes to releasing films admist the pandemic. As Trolls: World Tour ended up being one of the first big films to go to streaming as opposed to theaters during the pandemic, while The Croods: A New Age is still going for its theatrical release this Thanksgiving. So who knows if Boss Baby 2 will get either treatment by the time it comes out in March, but regardless of how it will be release, it’s still likely to be a very odd and bizarre adventure from Dreamworks Animation.

The Boss Baby: Family Business is set for release March 26th 2021

Ryan Pineda: When it comes to film, animation, video games and other mediums, I can discuss for hours about how much on why certain films and animated media made me the person I am today. I adore the artistic merit that comes from a lot of pop-culture media and will definitely love to have a conversation about favorite movies any day! I have graduated in 2017 with a BA in Film and Television at the University of Arizona. Been passionate about writing about films due to always having an interesting outlook on the medium. Will always see a film and will definitely be sure to recommend it to someone that I know for a fact would love that movie. Not only that but will also give reasons for why I think that film did or did not work as a movie, and the same can go for other pieces of media like television, video games and especially animated projects.
