‘Avenger: Doomsday’ Official Trailer Released

Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom in Marvel's 'Avengers: Doomsday' (2026)

“Something’s coming. Something we may not be able to deter before this day is done.”

Marvel has released the first official trailer for Avengers: Doomsday and it seems like Earth’s Mightiest Heroes are faced a threat like they have never seen before. The trailer opens on a shot of a decrypted sign for Charles Xavier’s school for young mutant and transitions into Professor X (Patrick Stewart) watching something explode outside his window.  The next shot is one of Doctor Doom (Robert Downey Jr.) kneeling among wreckage while the voiceover continues, “We shall be faced with an unthinkable decision.”

The trailer then moves onto the Thunderbolts, Fantastic Four, Ant-Man/Scott Lang (Paul Rudd), Captain America/Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie), and Thor (Chris Hemsworth) meeting in the Avengers tower. Thor describes the immense danger that the heroes are in, saying, “I’ve fought with many warriors in my time. They were far stronger than all of us put together, and they died. They died facing enemies and threats that scared me far less than this one.” Over his voiceover, there are shots of Shuri (Letitia Wright) morphing into her Black Panther suit alongside M’Baku (Winston Duke) to fight against Namor’s (Tenoch Huerta Mejía) his clan and one of Thor with Stormbreaker going head-to-head against Doctor Doom.

Thor’s voiceover continues, “Everything they have sacrificed will be for nothing if we do not stand together. Put aside your petty squabbles and presume nothing except this, if you return, you will return as brothers and sisters.” During this there are various shots of multiple heroes’ fights, including Gambit (Channing Tatum) and Xu Shang-Chi (Simu Liu), Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh) and Mystique (Rebecca Romijn, and shots of Loki hiding out somewhere along with the Fantastic Four, Thunderbolts, and M’Baku all meeting in what seems to be Namor’s land.

There are also tender moments shown between Charles and Erik/Magneto (Ian McKellen) who seem to reconcile, Scott kissing his daughter Cassie’s forehead (Kathryn Newton), and Johnny Storm (Joseph Quinn) protecting his sister Sue (Vanessa Kirby) from an unknown force. An electric action sequence between Thor and Doomsday is shown but Thor speaks again, “But mark my words, we’re going to need a miracle.” The closing scene of the trailer is Steve Rodgers returning to which Thor doesn’t believe it is possible, but Steve proves it’s real by taking Mjolnir from him with a smile.

Avengers: Doomsday is set to arrive in theaters on December 18th. Check out the full trailer below:
