A trailer has just been released for a documentary about a Jewish Holocaust survivor who became a sex expert. The documentary, which is titled Ask Dr. Ruth, follows the life story of Dr. Ruth Westheimer a woman who has spent her life promoting healthy sexual education.
For those who are unfamiliar with the works of Dr. Westheimer, she is a sexual therapist, currently 90 years old but not retired. At one time she was considered to be a pop-culture icon. She has also written 40 books, but she is probably most famous for her appearances on radio and television. In the past shows of her own, she would discuss issues surrounding human sexuality. Over the course of her career she has made guest appearances on talk shows like Late Night with David Letterman, game shows like Hollywood Squares, and she even appeared regularly on the children’s show Between the Lions.
Ask Dr. Ruth is being directed by Ryan White, and is set to debut at the Sundance Film Festival. It will also be available to stream on Hulu.
