Ariana DeBose Joins Cast Of Stephanie Laing’s ‘Tow’

On Apr. 3, 2024, it was announced that Ariana DeBose will join the cast of Stephanie Laing’s Tow.

DeBose will enter the cast alongside Rose Byrne, Dominic Sessa, and Demi Lovato to tell the real-life story of Amanda Ogle, as portrayed by Rose Byrne. The plot revolves around the experience of Ogle when she was unhoused and faced with a tow bill of over $21,000 for her car. The story documents Ogle’s struggles as she makes her way through the legal system to fight the ticket and reclaim possession of her vehicle, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Ogle will work on this film as a producer alongside Laing and other crew members. Tow will be Laing’s third feature film. The script for Tow was written by Jonathan Keasey, Brant Boivin, and Annie Weisman.

DeBose is best known for her role in Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Broadway musical Hamilton, as well as Anita in Steven Spielberg’s remake of West Side Story. For this role, DeBose won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress and was the first queer woman of color to do so in the category according to IMDb. DeBose also announced this year that she will star in Jonathan Eusebio’s With Love alongside Ke Huy Quan.

Tow’s release date has yet to be announced.
