Based on the beloved children’s show, a new Bob The Builder film is on the horizon. Set to headline the role is Anthony Ramos.
With Mattel and Nuyorican Productions, owned by Jennifer Lopez, heading up production, the animated feature will be produced by ShadowMachine, the company that helped bring the Oscar-winning Pinocchio from Guillermo Del Toro to life. Mattel had a huge hit on their hands last year with Barbie, which is now up for consideration to win a number of Academy Awards.
“When Roberto “Bob” travels to the enchanting island of Puerto Rico for a major construction job, he takes on issues affecting the island and digs deeper into what it means to build. Bob’s journey will celebrate the vibrant and colorful textures of the Caribbean Latin nations and their people,” states an official synopsis, according to Hollywood Reporter.
Anthony Ramos appeared in last year’s Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts, who worked alongside Optimus Prime and the Autobots as the main protagonist Noah Diaz. He also appeared in Dumb Money, and is set to star in Twisters and the Marvel show Ironheart.
The producers on the film will include Jennifer Lopez, Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, and Benny Medina for Nuyorican Productions, with Alex Bulkley and Corey Campodonico for ShadowMachine. Ramos himself will also serve as a producer.
On top of those attached as producers, Kevin McKeon, Ivan Sanchez, and Arturo Thur De Koós will oversee the project on behalf of Mattel, with Natalie Haack Flores on behalf of Nuyorican.
