Anne Hathaway Set to Star in Sci-Fi Thriller ‘O2’

According to Deadline, Academy Award-winning actress Anne Hathaway (Colossal) is set to star in a new sci-fi thriller titled O2.

The script was penned by Christie LeBlanc. The story revolves around a woman (Hathaway) who wakes up inside a cryogenic chamber and must escape before her air supply runs out. The search is on for a director. Hathaway is producing, along with Suzan Bymel, Echo Lake’s Adam Riback and James Engle, and IM Global’s Stuart Ford and Greg Shapiro.

Hathaway has just wrapped production on Oceans Eight, whose starry cast also includes Academy Award-nominated actor Matt Damon (The Great Wall), Academy Award-winning actress Cate Blanchett (Carol), Academy Award-winning actress Sandra Bullock (Our Brand is Crisis), Dakota Fanning (American Pastoral), and Academy Award-nominated actress Helena Bonham Carter (Alice Through the Looking Glass). Hathaway has a couple of projects in pre-production — the comedy Nasty Women which co-stars Rebel Wilson (Pitch Perfect franchise), and the drama thriller Serenity which co-stars Academy Award winning actor Matthew McConaughey (Gold).

Production on O2 will begin this fall.
