Participant Media’s upcoming untitled film based on a famed pollution scandal from real-life and directed by Todd Haynes is starring numerous renowned actors. Mario Correa and Matthew Carnahan are screenwriters. Executive producers are Jonathan King, Michael Sledd, and Jeff Skroll.
Oscar-winning Anne Hathaway will be in the film alongside Mark Ruffalo. Tim Robbins, Bill Camp, Mare Winningham, William Jackson Harper, and Bill Pullman are in the cast as well.
The film will be about a New York Times Magazine article written by Nathaniel Rich. The article covers a breakthrough for unmasking chemical pollution in an environmental lawsuit against DuPont, a chemical corporation. Robert Bilott, the corporate defense lawyer who successfully sued DuPont over a chemical called PFOA, will be played by Mark Ruffalo. Bilott himself will be consulting for the film.
Film production will be initiated in Cincinnati next week. Participant Media, with Green Book and Roma recently winning Golden Globes, is flourishing.
