Anne Hathaway Discusses Script and Interest for ‘Princess Diaries 3’

As much as fans tend to express interest in a revival of an older movie franchise, there are many instances where the actors and actresses starring in big movie series would like their own series to return. In a recent interview with Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live, Oscar Winning actress Anne Hathaway stated that she would like to do another film in the series that made her famous with The Princess Diaries. Not only that, but she also mentioned that a script is being written for the third installment for the movie series, so it could come sooner than expected.

During the interview, not only did Hathaway express interest in doing Princess Diaries 3, but she mentioned that producer Debra Martin Chase and legendary actress Julie Andrews are interested in turning The Princess Diaries into a trilogy. However, even though the script is being made for the film right now, Hathaway stated that they want to make sure the script is perfect before production.

“It’s as important to us as it is to you, and we don’t want to deliver anything until it’s ready, but we’re working on it.” Hathaway stated during the interview. They also still need to find a director as well as Gary Marshall, who directed the previous two Princess Diaries movies, sadly passed away in 2016. Whoever directs this third movie though, it’s ensured that they, alongside Hathaway and the other people who want to make this movie, will give something that fans will love.

Ryan Pineda: When it comes to film, animation, video games and other mediums, I can discuss for hours about how much on why certain films and animated media made me the person I am today. I adore the artistic merit that comes from a lot of pop-culture media and will definitely love to have a conversation about favorite movies any day! I have graduated in 2017 with a BA in Film and Television at the University of Arizona. Been passionate about writing about films due to always having an interesting outlook on the medium. Will always see a film and will definitely be sure to recommend it to someone that I know for a fact would love that movie. Not only that but will also give reasons for why I think that film did or did not work as a movie, and the same can go for other pieces of media like television, video games and especially animated projects.
