Angelina Jolie Set For The Torino Film Festival For International Premiere Of ‘Without Blood’

Jolie discussing 'Without Blood' with Variety

Angelina Jolie will be attending Italy’s Torino Film Festival for Without Blood. The film is based on a short novel by Italian author Alessandro Baricco of the same name. Jolie wrote, co-produced, and directed the film, marking her fifth film as a director.

The war drama stars Salma Hayek Pinault and Demián Bichir. It follows Hayek’s Nina, whose family is torn apart after her father and brother are murdered by her father’s enemies in front of her. She escapes the scene by hiding under the house’s floorboards, but one of the men, portrayed by Bichir, spots her. The two reunite later as Nina makes plans to avenge the death of her family.

Without Blood is set to hold its international premiere at Torino’s Cinema Ideal on Nov. 24, with Jolie and Barricco as presenters. The film is produced by Fremantle, Jolie Productions, Rome’s Fremantle-owned The Apartment Pictures, and De Maio Entertainment. Fremantle is distributing the movie.

Italian film director Giulio Base is the new artistic director for the Torino Film Festival. The festival will open with Ron Howard’s Eden and will close with Billy Zane’s new film Waltzing With Brando
