Those who turned out to see Star Trek: Into Darkness this weekend may have been pleasantly surprised with the debut of a new teaser trailer for Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues. It has been exactly a year since the first trailer landed in front of the movie The Dictator, and like the original, this trailer is presented in the same format with no actual footage from the movie. With a release date of December 20, we are only half a year away from the return of Ron Burgundy. So it comes as a little bit of a disappointment that no new footage is being released, but, perhaps,it is a carefully calculated disappointment to leave the audience wanting more.
Paramount has been keen on regularly “leaking” information about the film, including releasing set photos of cameo appearances. Some of the leaked names so far: Sacha Baron Cohen, Kristen Wiig, Nicole Kidman, Kanye West, Harrison Ford, Amy Poehler, and Tina Fey.
The trailer itself once again features the members of the Channel 4: Will Ferrell as Burgundy, David Koechner as “Champ” Kind, Paul Rudd as Brian Fantana, and Steve Carell as Brick Tarnland. See it for yourself here.
