While most Sci-Fi horror movies involve the invasion of an environment or a physical body, a new horror comedy takes the invasive angle to another level with a pregnancy with Mum, I’m Alien Pregnant.

A pregnancy can be a situation that may imbue mixed reactions in human relations thus seems to be the basis of this symbolic story. Based on their 2024 short film Help, I’m Alien Pregnant, the plot is written in continuation of it and shows the aftermath of a casually flirtatious yet unexpectedly reproductive encounter between two…beings. The horrific events that ensue resemble those of the human-vampire hybrid pregnancy of Twilight: Breaking Dawn.

The Sundance-selected directorial feature debut by THUNDERLIPS (not to be confused with the Rocky III character played by the late Hulk Hogan), filmmaking duo from New Zealand known for creating commercials for big-name products and unique music videos for artists, like Two Door Cinema club and Heroes For Sale. The creators have another short film on their resume – I Think We Might Have to Do Something was their festival submission project in 2013, though not much information can be found on the project except that it was a short crime film.

A debut at a world-renowned event like the Sundance Film Festival is badge of honor, and the feature will premiere this weekend. There are sure to be bodily horrors that may be results of an advanced growth rate pregnancy along with all of the expected “normal” gory details (an exclusive clip and their teaser poster can also be seen here), and its performance in the festival circuit will determine where we may be able to watch the events unfold from the comfort of our home or mobile devices.
