The trailer for the third installation in the acapella-based comedy series Pitch Perfect has just been released! The trilogy began in 2012 and will culminate in a final volume at the end of this year. It will be the end of the road for the Barden Bellas, most of whom have already received their degrees from the college which jumpstarted their love of musical performances.
The film will star beloved established cast members such as Anna Camp (True Blood), Brittany Snow (John Tucker Must Die), Anna Kendrick (Into the Woods), Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit), Rebel Wilson (Bridesmaids), Alexis Knapp (Project X), Hana Mae Lee (Patriot), and Elizabeth Banks (The Hunger Games). The movie will also feature first-time cast members such as Ruby Rose (Orange Is the New Black), Matt Lanter (90210), and John Lithgow (Rise of the Planet of the Apes).
While the second film definitely did not manage to capture the same organic and electric atmosphere that launched the first movie to iconic super-stardom, the fact remains to be seen if this last movie will succeed or fail at bringing the same exciting life to the franchise.
