‘Amsterdam’ Releases First Trailer

20th Century Studios Amsterdam has just released its first trailer. The film follows two veterans and a former nurse who befriended each other during the war as they become entangled in the death of a gentleman in the 1930s, or rather, “one of the most shocking secret plots in American history.” That’s right, Amsterdam is based on true events and mixed in with fictitious interpretation to provide an exciting tale.

David O. Russell of Golden Globe-winning American Hustle and Academy Award-winning Silver Linings Playbook is directing the comedy-thriller. Russell has come under scrutiny in recent years due to decades of alleged verbally, physically, and sexually abusive behavior both on and off set.

Amsterdam is not only a picture with an exciting plot of twists and turns, but it’s also just littered with star power. It’s honestly absurd all of the big names that are featuring in the upcoming film. Christian Bale, Margot Robbie, and John David Washington play the three best friends at the center of the story — but the acclaimed talent doesn’t stop there. Stars in the supporting cast include Chris Rock, Anya Taylor-Joy, Zoe Saldaña, Rami Malek, and even Taylor Swift.

Many fans are excited to see Swift on the big screen. She potentially has a good amount of screen time as she plays the daughter of the dead man shown in the trailer.

Amsterdam is scheduled to arrive in theaters on November 4, 2022.
