Amanda Seyfried (Les Miserables) has joined the upcoming political buddy comedy Young Americans, starring Daniel Radcliffe (What If) and Dane DeHaan (Amazing Spider-Man 2).
The movie follows the young versions of Republican political consultants Lee Atwater (Radcliffe) and Karl Rove (DeHaan) in the 1970s as they take a road trip to the White House in order to break into politics. Seyfried’s character’s name hasn’t been announced, but she will reportedly play a woman who joins their trip with secret motives to beat them in their quest.
The comedy is set to start shooting in the fall and will be directed by John Krokidas (TV’s Black Box), who previously worked with Radcliffe and DeHaan on the beatnik biopic Kill Your Darlings. It’s also the first feature film script from Wes Jones, who’s only other film work was as a producer on 2007’s Grace is Gone.
Seyfried is just coming off the comedy While We’re Young and has number of projects in the pipeline, including the comedy The Social Life and the Peter Pan prequel Pan. Later this summer, she can be seen in the sequel Ted 2.
