Coming out of the Berlin Film Festival, Amanda Seyfried (Ted 2) and Theo James (Insurgent) will star in the upcoming horror thriller Black Lung. This will be the directorial debut for Chase Palmer (TV’s The Black List) who also wrote the movie. While this genre isn’t too much of leap for Seyfried – she had roles in the comedy-horror Jennifer’s Body, the thriller Gone, and played the title character in the romantic semi-horror Red Riding Hood – the closest James has come to working in horror was the supernatural-action film, Underworld Awakening. He will be seen next in the Divergent sequel, Insurgent. Plot details are currently under wraps but it’s executive produced by Cary Fukunaga who recently received national acclaim and recognition as an executive producer and director on HBO’s True Detective. He’s also directing and writing the new adaptation of the Stephen King novel, It. Black Lung will start shooting this summer.
