Deadline has exclusively learned that the upcoming film Replica has new cast members, and it looks like a great cast is involved. Alexandra Grey (MacGyver), Jeremy Luke (The Irishman), and Mickey Rourke (The Wrestler, Iron Man 2) are set to board the upcoming film.
Directed and written by Paul Tully, Replica follows Tonya (Grey). She is an African American trans woman traveling cross-country from her little Mississippi community to California to pursue her goal of being an actor. While on her way to Los Angeles, she finds herself trapped in the suburbs and becomes immersed in a harsh world after meeting Mickey (Luke), a neo-Nazi low-level meth dealer. But, to their astonishment, they begin to fall in love just as they become the victim of some violent drug traffickers.
Rounding out the cast includes Nicholas Turturro (NYPD Blue), Noel Gugliemi (The Fast & The Furious), Naomi Grossman (American Horror Story), Kirby Bliss Blanton (Death Wish), Alexander James Rodriguez (Alice Through the Looking Glass), and Leila Almas Rose (Blue Bloods).
Grey has starred on hit shows like Empire and How to Get Away with Murder.
Luke is currently filming the comedy The Disappearance of Toby Blackwood.
Rourke is currently filming the action thriller, Jade. It has been reported that Rourke is set to star in the horror-thriller Cursed alongside Lindsay Lohan.
Production will begin in Los Angeles fairly soon.
