In a surprise announcement, it appears The Invisible Man‘s Aldis Hodge has been tasked with playing the fan-favorite Hawkman in the upcoming, Dwayne Johnson-led, anti-hero film Black Adam. This news comes just a day after the news about The Snyder Cut‘s pick-ups as well as the 70 million dollar budget was released.
Now since the film is still in its pre-production stage, not much is known about the story. We only know several little details about it as of right now. Dwayne Johnson will be playing the lead (Black Adam). Noah Centineo will be playing Atom Smasher. It will be directed by Jaume Collet-Serra. The Justice Society will play a large role in the movie. And will be looking at a late 2021 release date — and that’s as of September 2020.
While this is great news to be sure, it is still unknown when shooting for the anti-hero blockbuster will commence as COVID is still ripping through America and large parts of the world. One can only hope that it will end soon and production on many huge movies can continue safely. Though with how things have been going lately, one could assume correctly that pushbacks and delays can be seen in the film’s near future.
