Adam Driver Tells Off Audience At Screening of New Movie

Adam Driver had strong words for an audience member’s question about his upcoming movie Ferrari.

Driver was attending Poland’s Camerimage Film Festival screening and spoke at a Q&A. When asked by an audience member, “What do you think about [the] crash scenes? They looked pretty harsh, drastic, and I must say, cheesy for me. What do you think?”

To this Driver replied, “Fuck you. I don’t know. Next question.”

At the time, Driver was accepting the Special EnergaCamerimage Award for Acting and attending a Ferrari screening, an entry for EnergaCamerimage’s main film competition.

Academy Award nominee Michael Mann directed Ferrari, marking his return after almost eight years since 2015’s Blackhat. The movie stars Adam Driver, who also executive produced, as Enzo Ferrari. Set in Italy in 1957, Ferrari follows Enzo Ferrari in his iconic Mille Miglia, a 1,000-mile race across Italy.

A chief film critic for The Hollywood Reporter, David Rooney, wrote in his review of the movie, “Ferrari fundamentally is about the big race, where Mann’s virtuoso technique kicks in, and cinematographer Erik Messerschmidt’s cameras put us at the wheel or in the path of the speeding roadsters to thrilling effect. The Mille Miglia competition is run on 1,000 miles of open road across Italy, going through ancient towns (their streets lined with hay bales to project buildings and spectators) and bucolic countryside. A stretch showing the cars zipping through an expansive mountain pass is breathtaking (Italian locations, including Modena, are a plus throughout.)”

The movie stars Penelope Cruz, Gabriel Leone, Sarah Gadon, Shailene Woodley, and Patrick Dempsey alongside Adam Driver.

Fans can watch Driver’s biopic in theaters on December 25.
