Actors on Actors season 23 is upon us, with the rollout for the new collaboration between Variety and CNN set to premiere with its first episode on December 5. The Emmy-winning series will consist of 13 episodes that see 26 actors paired up as they take a deep dive into their artistry, specifically connecting to a specific film they starred in this past year.

- Sunday, Dec. 7: Jonathan Bailey (Wicked: For Good, Jurassic World Rebirth) and David Corenswet (Superman)
- Monday, Dec. 8: Dwayne Johnson (The Smashing Machine) and Brendan Fraser (Rental Family)
- Tuesday, Dec. 9: Gwyneth Paltrow (Marty Supreme) and Jacob Elordi (Frankenstein)
- Wednesday, Dec. 10: Cynthia Erivo (Wicked: For Good) and Hugh Jackman (Song Sung Blue)
- Thursday, Dec. 11: Sydney Sweeney (Christy) and Ethan Hawke (Blue Moon)
- Friday, Dec. 12: Stellan Skarsgård (Sentimental Value) and Alexander Skarsgård (Pillion)
- Saturday, Dec. 13: Michael B. Jordan (Sinners) and Jesse Plemons (Bugonia)
- Sunday, Dec. 14: Kate Hudson (Song Sung Blue) and Jeremy Allen White (Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere)
- Monday, Dec. 15: Oscar Isaac (Frankenstein) and Teyana Taylor (One Battle After Another)
- Tuesday, Dec. 16: Colin Farrell (Ballad of a Small Player) and Jessie Buckley (Hamnet)
- Wednesday, Dec. 17: Jennifer Lawrence (Die My Love) and Leonardo DiCaprio (One Battle After Another)
This will be the first season of Actors on Actors being a partnership between Variety and CNN, so the release windows will see some changes. Episodes will drop on CNN’s streaming platform and be exclusive to subscribers, airing on CNN at 9 a.m. ET. Variety will have to wait a few hours to drop on their digital platforms, with each episode airing on their YouTube channel at 3 p.m. ET. Variety’s print magazine of Actors on Actors will be released on December 17, photographed by Alexi Lubomirski for the 3rd consecutive year.
Co-editor in chief and co-president at Variety, Ramin Setoodeh exhibited his excitement for the franchise’s next chapter, pointing towards the vast talent involved in this season. Setoodeh also acted as executive producer of the series on the Variety side, along with Donna Pennestri. Amy Entelis and Roxanna Sherwood are the executive producers for CNN. Entertainment correspondent at CNN, Elizabeth Wagmeister, will give CNN subscribers a peek behind the curtain, offering exclusive insight into the creation of the highly touted series.
