According to Screenrant, Ace Ventura 3 is currently in development for Amazon from the writers of Sonic the Hedgehog. This news comes from the franchise’s production company, Morgan Creek. This will be the third film in the franchise, as well as the first film in over 20 years as the sequel to the original 1994 came out in 1995. Ace Ventura continued to be loved among audiences, with even a spin off titled Ace Ventura, Jr.: Pet Detective, coming out in 2009.
Ace Ventura quickly turned Jim Carrey into one of the biggest Hollywood names of the 1990s. Carrey has gone on to star in a number of other successful franchises and movies since, including hits Bruce Almighty, The Truman Show, and How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Even after hit after hit, Carrey is still arguably best known for playing the kooky and unpredictable pet detective with the crazy hair in Ace Ventura. The film is still known for being one of the most quotable films, as the infamous quotes, “Alrighty then,” “lahoo-se-her,” and “do NOT go in there” came from the franchise.
Park Circus, the team at Morgan Creek, states that a new Ace Ventura movie is currently in development from the writers of Sonic the Hedgehog. They say the franchise will see a “new day” at Amazon as a major motion picture.
