Aaron Sorkin’s Project, ‘The Trial of the Chicago 7’, Restarted

The political drama film, The Trial of the Chicago 7, directed by Aaron Sorkin, will be restarted as a film project after initially facing budget issues per The Hollywood ReporterThe film is set in the 1960s, a time when anti-war protests against the Vietnam War were commonplace. Eight people were indicted for conspiracy because of their connection to spurring riots during the 1968 Democratic National Convention. The film will specifically focus on the trial of the group that later became known as the Chicago 7 after one of the alleged conspirators was dismissed.

The cast will include Seth Rogen, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Alex Sharp, Eddie Redmayne, Sacha Baron Cohen, and Jonathan Majors. The film is currently in pre-production and will begin filming in the summer.
